Irvine Incredible Edible Park Spring Harvest & Gleaning
9:00-11:00am. Off Harvard Ave., past Irvine Ctr. Dr. by train tracks near Flagstone Park.
Volunteer your time and energy planting, weeding, and harvesting fresh spring fruits and vegetables at Irvine’s Incredible Edible Park. Edibles are donated to local charities through the 2nd Harvest Food Bank. Water, gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended. 8:30am carpool at Flagpoles. Event sponsored by the 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

Free-range cage-free chicken? All natural beef? Have you ever wondered about the living conditions of the livestock you eat? Join us for a tour of a family run, humane ranch. We will be able to see
their chickens, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, lamb, and goats and how they are housed.  This family run ranch promotes sustainable farming and organic concepts in living. So come and take a break from classes and studying to spend some time outdoors and get a behind the scenes tour of a sustainable humane farm! 8:00am carpool @ Flagpoles.  Event sponsored by Da-Le Ranch.

What is fair food and labor? UCI’s film premiere of “Paying the Price” examines the impoverished lives of migrant workers from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, Mexico. Movie followed by a guest panel & open discussion about fair labor issues in agriculture.
